How to Publish League News
Draft a league news post, add privacy-safe media, publish it to the intended league, add navigation, and verify the public page.
The short answer
Open News for the intended league, write the announcement, choose privacy-safe media, keep it in draft until reviewed, then publish and verify the public page. News visibility and navigation are league-scoped, so always test the exact public league site rather than only the admin preview.
Before you start
- Administrator access.
- A public league site.
- Reviewed title, body, and publish timing.
- Media the league is allowed to publish.
Step-by-step instructions
Choose the league
Open News and confirm the active organization and league before creating the post.
Write the answer first
Lead with what happened, who it affects, and the action or date. Put background details afterward.
Add safe media
Use the Media Gallery for approved images and meaningful alternative text. Do not expose private player information.
Review as a draft
Check spelling, links, mobile line length, dates, and whether the post belongs on a public page.
Publish intentionally
Change the post to its publishable state at the planned time and save. Confirm the public route returns the new content.
Make it discoverable
Add or confirm the News navigation item and link important posts from the homepage when useful.
What success looks like
Common errors and fixes
The post is not public
Confirm publish status, league context, and public navigation, then refresh the public page.
The wrong league shows it
Unpublish and correct the league scope before resharing the URL.
An image is broken
Select a current Media Gallery asset and verify its public storage URL and alternative text.
