The short answer

Open Team Formation, choose the correct league and season, load unassigned and eligible players, then use the snake-draft suggestion or assign players manually. Review every destination team before commit: the suggestion is a planning aid, while the administrator makes the final roster decision.

Before you start

  • Administrator access.
  • A destination season with teams already created.
  • Eligible players or free agents in the same organization.
  • Skill values only if the league wants skill-aware balancing.

Step-by-step instructions

Choose league and season

Open Team Formation and select the destination league, season, and division if used. Team and player queries are restricted to the active organization.

Load the player pool

Review players who are not already actively assigned to a team in that season, including eligible free-agent registrations.

Choose the destination teams

Select the teams participating in the draft. Create missing teams before continuing rather than using placeholders.

Generate a suggestion

Select players and run the snake-draft option when useful. LeagueArc returns proposed teams, balance metrics, and possible swaps; it has not changed rosters yet.

Review and adjust

Check goalkeepers or positions, siblings, coaches, age rules, availability, and league policy. Move players manually when the statistical suggestion misses a real-world constraint.

Commit once

Save the final assignments and verify each roster. The commit validates that destination teams belong to the active organization and selected season.

What success looks like

Approved draft assignments create active, organization-scoped roster relationships for the chosen season and teams.

Common errors and fixes

The player pool is empty

Confirm the season and league, then check whether players are already assigned or registrations have not reached an eligible status.

Auto-draft will not run

Select at least as many players as destination teams and make sure each selected record has a valid identifier.

Assignments cannot be saved

Confirm every destination team belongs to the active organization and selected season, then reload the pool before retrying.
